Linocut Workshop In this workshop students will spend one day designing and carving their linocut plate and one day learning to print their plate on paper. Linocut is a beautiful printmaking technique that emphasizes line and shape. Using this technique students carve a plate and can repeatedly print their design on paper or fabric. Students should have good dexterity with their hands for this class. Ages 12 to Adult

Bookbinding Class In this 4 week course students will learn to make books that can be used as notebooks or sketchbooks. A few different bindings will be covered in the class. Students will learn to create fabric and paper covered hardcovers for their books as well. Students should have good dexterity with their hands for this class. Ages 14 to Adult.

Urban Sketching Class 6 week course This 6 week course will meet at six different locations throughout the summer to sketch various sites around Moscow, ID. Some sites will be outdoors and some indoors. Students will learn basic drawing skills including creating accurate shapes, value washes, perspective and basic color theory. Students should have some prior drawing skills and should be 12 years old to adult.

Drawing and Acrylic Painting Class This 8 week course is designed to teach students good drawing skills and then use those skills to move into painting. The first half of the class will be drawing and the second half will be acrylic painting. Students will learn to draw a few different subjects and move from black and white to color. Ages 14 to Adult

Sketchbook Class Students will learn how to utilize their sketchbook and create beautiful works in it in this 4 week class. This class is to teach students to experiment and enjoy working in a book and use it to build up to bigger works. Multiple mediums will be used. Ages 12 to Adult

Fabric Collage Class This course will take students through designing a collage and using fabric to collage it onto a canvas. Students will learn to use colors and values to create form and a pleasing final piece. Ages 12 to Adult

Printmaking Class An introduction to printmaking using three hand printmaking techniques. This is a 4 week class. Students will learn how to make monoprints, a linocut and a collagraph. Linocuts involve carving a plate with a sharp tool and collagraphs involve building up a plate with various textured things. No press will be used for printing. Adults

FALL 2024:
General Studio Art Class: A year long art class including drawing, painting, printmaking and sculpture. This class will twice a week and have normal school breaks. One day a week students will receive instruction, work on projects, and critique previous projects and one day a week will be a workday. Students will bring supplies to class and work on their projects at home as well as in class and complete one homework assignment a week. Ages 14 to adult. When: September- May 2024-2025 Tentatively M,W 4-5:30pm ( I will have a full schedule out soon) These times are tentative at this time.
